Henry Moore Studios and Gardens, Perry Green, Herts
Thursday 26 September 2019

The sculpture gardens and studios, based at Henry Moore’s former home in Hertfordshire, are the best place in the world to appreciate the artist’s work. Moore’s home Hoglands is where the family lived for over 40 years. Our afternoon guided tour will give us the chance to hear about his life and work. In the Gardens we will be surrounded by over twenty of his sculptures. The 16th century Aisled Barn uniquely houses Moore’s remarkable tapestries. Hundreds of small models (maquettes), the starting point for his monumental bronzes, line the shelves of the Studios.

And as a bonus our visit coincides with the largest exhibition of Henry Moore’s drawings in over 40 years. ‘The Art of Seeing’ includes over 150 works from the Studios’ collections, the Tate and other major museums. This new exhibition traces his career on paper from the 1920’s through to the 1980’s.
