MENU THE ARTS SOCIETY KINGSTON

Our venue is: The Clattern Lecture Theatre at the Penrhyn Road campus of Kingston University: Penrhyn Road, Kingston upon Thames, Surrey KT1 2EE. We start our meetings at 7.30-7.45pm. Lectures begin at 8.00pm and we usually close around 9.00 – 9.15 pm.

The university is very accessible by public transport buses (71, 281, 406, 418, K2, K3) or is a short (10 minute) walk from the town centre, entry is via the main entrance on Penrhyn Road.

Unfortunately, because of building works there is no parking at the front of the University at present. However, there is plenty of parking in the two car parks off Fassett Road at the rear, these are open to the public from 6.00pm but see announcement below.

After 6.30pm some parking is available in Grove Crescent and Fassett Road.

Announcement: June 2018

From 11th June 2018, Kingston University has granted the management of  outside core hours parking (ie evenings and weekends) to a company named Parkonomy. Cars parked in any of the University sites will now attract charges which will be payable by mobile phone only. The Society will be maintaining a list of car registration numbers for members which will be forwarded to the University/Parkonomy, only those on the list will be exempt from charges.

Blue Badge holders can still park in the allotted places in the small car park at the rear of the Penrhyn Road building, without incurring a charge, but please be sure to display your Badge.

NB.  Cars parked without paying by mobile phone will not be refundable by the University, as Parkonomy is a company separate from the University.

Entry to the University

For entry into the university from the car parks please go through the automatic doors at the rear of the Main Building and walk along the long corridor to the main entrance and turn right in front of the Reception Desk, go through the doors and the lecture theatre is on your right. There are normally members around to greet and guide you.
